Two former AIM students Ellis and Tim just battled it out on The Voice Australia.
On Sunday 28th May, the singing battle was fierce. The song was Ed Sheeran’s ‘Bloodstream’. It came down to the wire: Ellis Hall and Tim Conlon – both former AIM students – were powerful, moving and magnificent to hear. (And we’re not exaggerating.) Ultimately, Tim triumphed. But in our eyes, both singers successfully brought home the bacon. Ellis, 19, was a student at our Sydney campus in 2014 and 2015, graduating with his HSC and a Certificate III in music. He launched an EP in 2016 and completed a state-wide tour. And this isn’t the first time he’s appeared on TV. In 2014, he competed on The X Factor, making it into the top 12 and wowing judges including Dannii Minogue. Speaking about his time at AIM, Ellis says, “I made lifelong friends at AIM High, it has 100% helped my career. I love creating music, playing music – with amazing people.”
Tim, 23, has been making his mark in the music industry, too. He’s been gigging at weddings and in pubs and clubs around Sydney, including The Fiddler, Manly Wine, The Ivanhoe, 4 Pines, The Observer Hotel, Coogee Bay Hotel, and Cyren Restaurant Darling Harbour. He graduated from AIM in 2015 with a Bachelor of Music (Contemporary).
Well done to both talented performers! We look forward to watching Tim continue blazing a trail on TV, and have no doubt we’ll see Ellis’s name in lights again, too.
