An Introduction to Singing is a five-week short course (for beginners) exploring the ability to sing. Your voice is one of the most powerful tools you use every day to express thoughts, emotions, and ideas. Gaining fundamental knowledge, you will learn how the voice works, the use of basic vocal techniques and identifying the skills to implement the ability to sing. Perfect for anyone wanting to learn the fundamentals of singing or has a passion to perform.

Jake Tyler

A graduate of the Australian Institute of Music graduating with a Bachelor of Music (Musical Theatre), Jake was cast as the leading man Darryl Van Horn in The Witches of Eastwick the musical and Officer Barrel in Urinetown the Musical during his studies.

Since graduating, Jake has been a part of Squabbalogic productions such as Kiss Me Kate! and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. He has performed alongside American Composer John Bucchino and was also invited to perform with international star Adele in her Australian tour in 2017 – a career highlight!

TVC credits include Mamma Mia promo, Hungry Jacks as well as being featured in TV series A Place to Call Home.

In 2018 Jake finished touring NSW with Echelon Productions as George in Treasure Hunt, to later join the Australian Shakespeare Company in the Jungle Book – The Next Chapter as Baloo the Bear.

2019 has been Jake’s best year yet, joining international group The Tap Pack, and Mama Montez Productions with Gone too Soon both  sailing the high seas, playing the lead role of Munkustrap in the New Zealand tour of CATS the Musical and performing as Prince Phillip in Opera Australia’s world premier of Whiteley – The Brett Whiteley Opera and the role of Adam in Opera Australia’s Marriage of Figaro.

Jake is also currently writing his one-man cabaret “Gotta Be Frank, to premiere in the near future. Watch this space!
