MUSIC THEATRE

ELISA COLLA
GRADUATION YEAR: 2009 - Bachelor of Music - Music Theatre

THEATRE PERFORMER, REPRESENTED BY SUE BARNETT AND ASSOCIATES


Elisa graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Music Theatre) from the Australian Institute of Music in 2009.
Upon graduating she was cast in the role of Nessarose in the Sydney season of WICKED (GFO), making her professional debut. Following the successful Australian tour of WICKED, Elisa went on to perform the role of Nessarose to international audiences in Singapore and Seoul.

Most recently, Elisa was chosen by Dame Julie Andrews to take over the role of Eliza Doolittle for the remainder of the 2017 Melbourne season of MY FAIR LADY (Opera Australia/GFO) after previously being an understudy to the role.

Her other professional musical theatre credits include being an understudy/performing the role of Cosette in the Australian Tour of the 25th Anniversary production of LES MISÉRABLES (Cameron Mackintosh/Michael cassel Group) and the coveted role of Maria in WEST SIDE STORY for Neil Gooding’s Packemin Productions.

Elisa originated the role of Salomé in the workshop presentation of FAUST: A New Musical and performed the role of Mary Powell in the workshop presentation of Kingsford Smith - The Musical (GFO). Elisa was honored to be a 2013 finalist in the prestigious ANZ Rob Guest Endowment Award.

DEMITRA SEALY
GRADUATION YEAR: 2014 - Bachelor of Performance (Dramatic Arts)

ACTRESS, VOICE-OVER ARTIST & SINGER NOW BASED IN THE USA


Demitra Sealy is a bi-lingual Greek Australian actress, voice-over artist & singer now based in the USA. Demitra, who happily splits her time between theatre and screen work, is best known for her work on three seasons of Foxtel Australia’s award winning TV show ‘Meraki TV’ and her lead role in the internationally acclaimed series ‘First World Relationships’. Her stage credits include ‘AKIO!’ with The Hayes Theatre Company, Lex Marinos’s ‘Haircuts’, Jason Langley’s Australian premier of ‘Chekhov in Hell’ and the 2015 National Touring Season with the Kinetic Energy Theatre Company.

Demitra is a woman of the world having visited 13 countries over the last three years for her career and all the artistic treats along the way. She has also had the honour of winning several prestigious awards. Last year alone Demitra was named ‘Up and Coming Actress of the Year’, by one of Australia’s leading publications, Starcentral Magazine. She was also awarded international recognition for ‘Best Actress’ at Austin Comedy Festival in the USA and the ‘Best Rising Star’ at Seoul Webfest in Korea for the series ‘First World Relationships’.

In addition to her training at AIM, Demitra has trained with Playwriting Australia, The Bell Shakespeare
Company, and the NYC Actors Studio, where she was admitted under the Presidents Scholarship.
 

Entertainment Management

MARK DADIC
GRADUATION YEAR: 2015 - Bachelor of Entertainment Management

MARKETING MANAGER, UNIVERSAL MUSIC AUSTRALIA


First cutting his teeth in Sydney’s hardcore scene before studying at AIM, Mark graduated in 2015 and has since gone from strength to strength; going from a Marketing Intern to a Marketing Manager in the space of two years. Mark’s roles at Universal Music Australia has allowed him to work across ten ARIA #1 albums, including Kendrick Lamar’s‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ & Justin Bieber’s‘Purpose’, achieve ARIA platinum status for a number of his projects singles & be awarded the Merino Award for Outstanding Contribution to Universal Music Australia’s Culture. He is now a Marketing Manager working within the artist development team, focusing on the growth of up-and-coming domestic and international acts.

Along with his artist work, Mark has also been appointed the Marketing Manager of Forbes Street Studios, a state of the art recording facility. During his time in managing the studio, Mark has bolstered the usage of the space via less traditional means. This has seen the likes of Post Malone, Billie Eilish, Shawn Mendes and more use the space for exclusive performances and promotional purposes.

Both endeavours have enabled Mark to work to his personal strengths, whether it is in the case of an artist’s career or the recording studio.

MARIA ALFONSINE

MUSIC COMPOSER AT CHURCH STREET STUDIOS


Maria Alfonsine provides an intriguing place for her audience to escape across genres such as jazz, folk-pop, film music, musical theatre and experimental contemporary styles. Her starting point and focus is always “It’s all about the story”, no matter what medium or style she is working in. By turns playful and reflective, she finds inspiration in everyday life, the inequalities of the world and the force of nature, and through her art she wishes to communicate awareness, insight and courage. When not working with traditional instruments, she uses her voice and body to create organic soundscapes full of observations. Whatever the story needs.
In 2017 Maria received her third Best Composer Award (SFS) and moved in to Church Street Studios. Her most recent work includes Too Pretty To Be Witty’s comedy sketches (Freshblood/ABCiview), featured tracks for the ABC TV series Pulse (Clandestine/Beyond), as well as Vocalist and Music Editor on Stephan Elliott’s latest film Swinging Safari. Stage credits include Trade (Hurrah Hurrah), and Babelism: Love & Memory, Mens Rea: A Shifter’s Intent (Raghav Handa), and Lea Kannar-Lichtenberger’s installation Deception.

Maria is currently composing the music for Genna Chanelle Hayes’ feature film Akoni, as well as sound design for Hilary Bell’s new adaption of Molière’s The Hypochondriac (dir. Jo Turner/Darlinghurst Theatre Company).

LUCA BRUEGGER
GRADUATION YEAR: 2013 - Bachelor of Music - Audio

With degrees from the Australian Institute of Music and New York University, Luca has already worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Grammy-winning producers, Mario McNulty (David Bowie, Prince, Linkin Park), Mark Hudson (Pink, Paul McCartney), and Barry Eastmond (Chaka Kahn, Britney Spears). Since taking a serious interest in production while mixing church services, Luca has gone on to engineer music for a vast array of artists and groups such as the B-52’s, Coldplay cellist Dave Eggar, and John Scofield. Luca has also produced songs that have featured session musicians such as Grammy-winner Kabir Sehgal, Whitney Houston’s drummer Michael Baker, and Spice Girls music director Vernon “Ice” Black.

Luca’s talents were featured when recording a song for Moroccan pop star Asma Lamnawar. That was used to celebrate the reopening of Jaber Al-Alhmad International Stadium, a 60-thousand seat stadium in Kuwait. He has also provided music compositions, sound design and mixing for TV commercials of Fortune 500 companies like McDonalds, UBS, Axa Insurance
and others.

Luca is also well-versed in live sound. He has mixed live performances for artists such as Paul Gilbert (Mr. Big), Bollywood
superstar Udit Narayan, and Hillsong in New York City’s Times Square.

JANNI (NEE JANICE)
GRADUATION YEAR: 2014 - Bachelor of Music - Contemporary

RECORDING ARTIST, AND CREATIVE PERFORMANCE TEACHER AT WARNER MUSIC HONG KONG


Janni’s interest in the performing arts started at a very young age when she first began formal dance training at the age of 3. After high-school, she returned to Australia and enrolled in AIM’s Contemporary Performance degree in 2012 majoring in Voice. Janni felt that it would compliment her dance background and provide her with the necessary skills to become a well rounded performing artist. Classes such as Performance Studies and the Songwriting electives were particularly beneficial in developing her confidence which prepared her for the music industry.

Upon graduating, Janni returned to Hong Kong and soon after she asked to join an experimental electronic band “Gravity Alterstra”, opening events for brands such as Puma, Reebok, K11, The Gig Week, and opening for M83 during their tour. Since 2016, she has worked as a vocal coach and dance instructor to develop young children in performing arts. Janni is currently signed to Warner Music Hong Kong under their urban music label F Records.
