The AIM Master of Arts Management degree presented at Sydney Opera House provides post graduate business education specially tailored for work in the arts, entertainment and music industries. It is a coursework degree providing knowledge and skills in disciplines such as marketing, entertainment law, accounting, strategy and general management. Both a commercial or not for profit focus can be accommodated, and students acquire the knowledge, skills and confidence to make immediate impact in the workplace. Students also have the opportunity to undertake a Major Project, which can be specifically designed to create business outcomes for a sponsor organisation.

The course can be undertaken full-time over one year or part-time over two. It is possible to push this out further if your circumstances make it difficult to complete within the normal timeframe. Each subject or ‘module’ requires attendance at a two day seminar, held on a Friday and a Saturday. This structure is designed to reduce the impact on busy working lives. Unlike most postgraduate educational programs, the dates you will be required to attend are announced well in advance (in fact, they are all listed in this brochure). If you select a program of study and find that work or other commitments arise that clash with a seminar, we do permit seminar swaps, so that your progress is unaffected.

In 2011 there will be one main intake commencing in February. However, the flexible, modularised nature of the program allows applications to be accepted throughout 2011, and students to commence at any time, subject to places being available. Generous donations from Michael Smellie and Professor Bob Robertson have enabled as to establish a scholarship fund for an indigenous student. Further information is provided in the brochure on page 20.

* The Application deadline for admission into the 2011 program is Friday 12th November, 2010. Successful applicants will be advised by Friday 26th November 2010.

Please email me at psaintilan@aim.edu.au if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you at one or more of the 2011 seminars.
