This course is an introductory level course, designed to teach students how to use proper vocal technique. The class will focus on warming up, posture, breath control, vocal health, intonation, harmonising with others, and song choice, while also building confidence and performance technique.
These classes cover:
Breath, resonance, tone, pitch
Warmups and vocal exercises
Choosing repertoire to suit your voice
Harmonising within a vocal group
Contemporary vocal songs explored through the music of Sam Smith, Jessie J, Coldplay, Missy Higgins and others
Vocal skills teacher (Sydney) : Patrick Magsino
Patrick has always loved singing from a young age. At the age of 14 he began to take vocal lessons and has been mentored by Veronica Monro, Katie Carr, David Mc Leod, Anna Mathewson and Tracy Costa.
Having been influenced by artists from both the Philippines and Western society artists such as Jay-R, Regine Velasquez, Sarah Geronimo, Sara Bareilles, Mariah Carey, Brian McKnight and Karina Pasian, allowing himself to develop his own sound of Pop, RnB, Soul and Jazz.
Patrick has completed his Bachelor of Music majoring in Contemporary Performance in 2012 and a Graduate Diploma degree in Secondary Music Education in 2014.
Throughout his career he has performed nationally for Carols in the Domain, Australian Idol, cultural events and music theatre productions. In 2013 Patrick had the opportunity to work and perform on an international stage at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
As of today Patrick is working for the AIM High program, vocal coaching High School students to further their craft while also working on his music career as a musician and a songwriter.
