Australian Institute of Music Classical Performance graduate Wojceich Wisniewski, has been fortunate enough to be accepted as a presenter at the 3rd World Piano Conference to be held in Novi Sad, Serbia. Wojciech will present his paper National Piano Schools in the 21st Century, 'Introduction to Research' at this prestigious event. During the conference Wojciech will also be holding a masterclass with aspiring performers.
Wojciech Wisniewski was born in 1981 in Nowa Sól in Poland, where he started playing the piano at the age of seven. He then studied with Dr Krystyna Wójcik in M. Karlowicz Highschool of Music in Poznan. In 2004 he graduated from F. Chopin Academy of Music (Master of Art, Warsaw, Poland), studying with prof. Bronislawa Kawalla, ad. Katarzyna Jankowska and ad. Edward Wolanin.
In 2007 Wojciech obtained Bachelor of Music in Classical Performance with First Class Honours (2007) at AIM, studying with Phillip Shovk. At present he is a student of Natalia Sheludiakova, at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music (DMA).
Wojciech has scored numerous successes at music competitions in Poland (Nowa Sol, Second prize 1992; Konin, Distinction 1996; Plock, Third prize Plock; Szafarnia, Special prize 1998; Lodz, First prize 1998). He was selected out of 240 competitors to participate in 2008 Sydney International Piano Competition.
Since his arrival in Australia he performed widely around the country (Sydney, Melbourne, Darwin, Cairns, Cooktown, Yungaburra, Canberra and many others). In February and May 2009 Wojciech performed recitals in New Zealand, invited by prof. Jack Richards.
On the 28th of June 2009 Wojciech performed F. Chopin Piano Concerto No 1 in e minor op.11 with Balmain Sinfonia.
