Nine students from AIM recently took part in Sydney Hospital Bicentenary celebrations, much to the enjoyment of patients and staff. The objective of the day was to acknowledge the Hospital's relationship with the local and wider community with a day of celebrations, recognising patients, staff and volunteers past and present who have contributed to making Sydney Hospital the outstanding health facility it is today.
In a thank you letter to AIM, Andrew Bernard, Director of Operations wrote: "I would like to express the sincere thanks of the staff of Sydney Hospital and our visitors to the Hospital Open Day for the outstanding contribution made by the nine young musicians from the Australian Institute of Music who performed through the day on Saturday 29th October 2011. The students willingness to be flexible with sets and the items they performed to meet the needs of the program for the day and its visitors, added to the ambience of the hospital during the open day and enhanced the enjoyment of all who attended".
The nine AIM musicians who performed included – Will Haskovec, Tom McGrath, Rhys Fuller, Bryn Douglas, Katy Reeve, Jake Bristow, Eve McGorlich, Kei Araoka and David Hughes. Their collective talent was truly appreciated. AIM would like to congratulate these students for giving up their time and talent for the greater good, as they took hold of the diversity of performance opportunities available through AIM.
