Dr Peter Calvo Memorial | Economist, Musician, Educator, Innovator
The Australian Institute of Music recently announced the sad news that its founder Dr Peter Calvo had passed away peacefully on 17 June 2011 at the age of 76.
Peter was an extraordinary visionary who dedicated his life to the establishment and success of AIM as we know it today. "He combined the love of music with the passion of economics in developing the Australian Institute of Music from a specialised school of classical guitar into a formidable institute of performing arts covering degree and graduate courses relating to the world of music and technology - from international prize-winning pianists and string players to contemporary pop-stars and audio engineers, as well as management and music theatre graduates."
Our thoughts go out to his family. His work continues to thrive and live on in the students and staff of AIM today, and his musical legacy will not be forgotten.
