OPEN DAY... at the Australian Institute of Music (AIM) is all about giving you a glimpse inside the doors of the leading school for today's music industry. MeetAIM teaching staff, talk with current students about their AIM experience, tour through AIM'scampus, facilities & studios, get involved in a workshopor take a masterclassrun by industry professionals.Open Day is also packed full with music course information for those looking to study a music degree in Sydney, plus a great cross section of student and staff live performances throughout the day. AIM's student cafe will also be open with tasty treats, lunch and drinks to keep you going. *subject to change on the day
A major feature of AIM's OPEN DAY is the extremely popular MUSIC INDUSTRY PANEL. Listen to industry professionals talk about their careers and industry issues, ask questions and learn about the many career opportunitiesin the music and entertainment industry. Some panel members already confirmed include Ken Francis (Composer and Creative Director of Fresh Music), Greg Simmons (founder of Audio Technology Magazine, and Senior Audio Lecturer at AIM and Darren Percival (The VOICE Runner Up).
This year we are also adding an ALUMNI PANEL,where you can hear about the success of graduates and what they have achieved since leaving AIM and starting careers in the entertainment and music industry.
DARREN PERCIVAL MASTERCLASS A very special feature of this year's AIM OPEN DAY will be a guest appearance by THE VOICE runner-up DARREN PERCIVAL, who will be delivering a vocal masterclass. This is a ONE-OFF experience you really DO NOT want to miss!
Also on the day the team from Fbi Radio 94.5FM will be on campus to give advice on how to submit your music to radio stations, get airplay and how to best represent your band when seeking management and gigs.
