BOTH SHOWS SOLD OUT!
The first concert in the Soul Food live performance series for 2012 will be on 23 March, where AIM students and staff will perform a selection of songs from some of the best Australian rock artists of all time.
Australia has produced an incredible list of songs from an amazing array of artists since the emergence of rock music in the 60s. ‘Aussie Rock’s Top 50’ will showcase a set list to explore this musical history, written and composed by some of Australia’s finest musical icons. From Hunters and Collectors, INXS, The Whitlams, Paul Kelly, Silverchair, Midnight Oil, Cold Chisel, Jet, Bernard Fanning, Yothu Yindi, Men at Work, The John Butler Trio and more, just to name a few.
‘Aussie Rock’ also integrates Music 1 and 2 for High School students. It will help students develop their understanding about the concepts of music and of music as an art form through experiencing this performance presented in its cultural and historical context. It will give students the opportunity to further develop their skills to evaluate music critically.
