  • borrow books, music scores, coursework CD-ROMs and some DVDs and videos.
  • reference, ‘Special Reserve’, Magazines, Journals, CDs, and some DVDs and videos are not available for loan and should be used within the library
  • reserve or renew online (before the due date), via telephone, email or in person.

You must:

  • have your student card with you to borrow items.
  • bring overdue items back to the library to be renewed. Reserved items cannot be renewed.

Overdue Items
Overdue items are charged at 50c per book per day. There is a cap of $50 and you may continue to borrow items until you owe $5.  Two months after the due date, if items are still unreturned, they will be assumed lost and you will be expected to pay the cost of a replacement.  All library charges must be paid before Semester results are released and to enable you to graduate.

For more information on Overdue Charges please ask at the library for our fact sheet.

What is ‘Special Reserve’?

Books marked ‘Special Reserve’ cannot be borrowed. They have been allocated by AIM Academic Staff as course readings. It is important that these items stay in the library for all students to use. Often there is a second copy that is available for loan. Sometimes it is not possible to have more than one copy of these items in the library due to the cost and/or the rarity of the item.

Lost or Damaged Items

Replacements costs plus a $10 admin fee will be charged for lost or severely damaged items
