swing for your supper 30 May

In the development of the young voice, the jazz standard is a most effective repertoire tool, and the young singer undoubtedly learns much about their voice through singing the songs of this era. This performance will include songs from some of the most renowned jazz composers such as Porter, Gershwin, Berlin, Rogers and Hart.

‘Swing For Your Supper’ is under the guidance of Jennifer Murphy, who came to prominence when she was cast by Broadway director Harold Prince in the lead role of the Australian premiere performance of “Evita”. Jennifer’s career has been a featured story on “Sixty Minutes” and has been listed in The Australian Book of Lists as one of Australia’s best female vocalists. Recently she was voice coach and music consultant on the feature films “Razzle Dazzle” and “Thunderstruck” and performance coach for channel 9’s “Starstruck”.
