An AIM Bachelor of Music (BMus) qualification is an accredited and specialised music degree designed to give you professional education and training for a lifelong career in music and the entertainment industry.
AIM is accredited by the NSW Government to grant awards through the NSW Department of Education and Training. AIM is also recognised as a Higher Education Provider (HEP) by the Australian Commonwealth Government. The Australian Institute of Music is a member of the peak industry bodies: Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET) and the Council of Private Higher Education (COPHE).
A 2 Year Music Degree
Whereas you would normally study a single degree at a University in Australia over 3 years, the AIM Bachelor of Music degree can be completed in 6 semesters over 2 years of study, by completing 20 credit points per semester (120 in total).

- Major Study: specialist units particular to the major chosen
- General Study units: taken by all majors, consisting of musicianship, music theory & history subjects.
- Foundation Studies: history & theory classes that cover rudimentary & introductory knowledge
- Ensemble units: taken by all majors, provide students with group performance knowledge and skills
- Associated Study units: support the student‟s specialisation, including both core & elective units
