A lunchtime performance by acclaimed classical pianist and AIM lecturer Dr. Brieley Cutting and guest singer Judit Molnar will be staged at AIM Sydney’s Student Lounge.

Judit Molnar – soprano (guest artist)
Judit Molnar is a Hungarian born soprano, educator and emerging researcher. She performs as a soloist at recitals, oratorios and operas across Europe and in her adopted country Australia, with orchestras such as the Canberra and Queensland Symphony Orchestras. Judit began lecturing at Miskolc University in 2008 and has held the position of Lecturer in Voice for three years. Based in Brisbane since 2012, Judit was granted a most prestigious Distinguished Talent Visa by the Australian Government as an internationally recognised artist with exceptional and outstanding contributions to the arts. Judit is also an active chamber musician: in addition to being a founding member and soprano soloist of the ‘Arioso Chamber Ensemble’, she is the artistic director and founder of her own ensemble ‘Fragments’. Judit is a DMA candidate at the Queensland Conservatorium focusing on the vocal chamber music of György Kurtág.
Brieley Cutting – piano (AIM staff)
Brieley is currently on staff at the Australian Institute of Music in Sydney. Her playing has been critically praised for its “myriad of colours” and “technical expertise.” She is a 2013 Churchill Fellow, and was awarded her Doctorate of Musical Arts from Griffith University in 2016. Brieley has been successful in significant piano competitions, including being Keyboard Winner of the 2006 Symphony Australia ABC Young Performers Awards – performing Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No.3 with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for ABC live radio and television in the Grand Final – and receiving second prize in the 2010 Kerikeri National Piano Competition in New Zealand. Brieley has performed as concerto soloist with orchestras including the Melbourne Symphony, Adelaide Symphony, Queensland Symphony, Melbourne Youth Orchestra, and Nizchny-Novgorod Philharmonic. Brieley remains active as a pianist onstage, and regularly collaborates with various ensembles and performers, including Ensemble Trivium, Australia Piano Quartet, Topology, Judit Molnar (soprano), and Kristian Winther (violin). Also experienced as an artistic director, Brieley’s concert series in Brisbane, DeClassified Music (2013-15), was enabled by the local Steinway & Sons piano distributors and won a Creative Sparks Award from the Brisbane City Council, with events featured in Queensland Music Festivals.
