Studying a certificate in Music Performance or Music technical production at the Australian Institute of Music is a challenging and rewarding educational experience. The courses are designed to give students with limited musical experience a solid understanding of music fundamentals in either performance or technical production (or both!). Our trainers and assessors are all industry professionals with many years of experience in performance, sound design, technical production and education.
All courses are held over 32 weeks with 2 x 2 week breaks.
Course Content
The certificate programs at AIM offer students the opportunity to develop fundamental music skills in key areas of the international music industry.
Students may choose from two areas of music study: Music Performance or Music Technology.
Music Performance certificates (CUS 20101 and CUS 30101) concentrate on all aspects of professional development in performance including ensembles, personal tuition, public performance, music theory and a detailed study of the world music industry.
Music Technology certificates (CUS20101 and CUS 30201) offer the student an opportunity to develop skills in recording and audio technology, mixing live sound, ensemble tuition and a detailed study of the world music industry.
All courses are closely integrated to provide the student with as much practical experience as possible and to enhance the learning experience.
