Classical Performance
Entrance by audition, short interview and musicianship assessment Applicants must: • Perform TWO contrasting pieces of music on their chosen instrument. • The total of the two pieces should not exceed 15 minutes. • An accompanist may be provided on request, if required. • Provide Certified Academic transcripts of previous study. • Provide a resume/portfolio that covers ALL musical experience.
Composition & Music Production
Entrance by short interview and musicianship assessment. Applicants must: • Provide THREE examples of original creative work of either as recordings, or scores or both. • Provide Certified Academic transcripts of previous study. • Provide a resume/portfolio that covers ALL musical experience. Note: Recordings must be accompanied by a credit list of composer, lyricist (if any), arranger, performers, producer and engineer.
Contemporary Performance
Entrance by audition, short interview & musicianship assessment. Applicants must: • Perform TWO contrasting pieces of music on their chosen instrument. • Drummers must play several different styles – each around 30 seconds in length. Please bring your own sticks, cymbals & hi hat clutch. • Guitarists should bring their own leads. • Amps are provided. • Applicants must provide own backing track or an accompanist. You may also audition unaccompanied. • ONE song may be original. • Provide Certified Academic transcripts of previous study. • Provide a resume/portfolio that covers ALL musical experience.
Entertainment Management
Entrance by short interview Applicants must: • Provide a resume/portfolio that covers ALL business and entertainment experience. • Score a UAI/ATAR of 70 and/or relevant industry experience. • Provide Certified Academic transcripts of previous study; especiallyin Arts/Entertainment, Mathematics and English.
Bachelor of Music (Arts Management)
Entrance by short interview and musicianship assessment. Applicants must: Provide Certified Academic transcripts of previous study; especially in Arts/Entertainment, Mathematics and English. • Provide a resume/portfolio that covers ALL musical, business and entertainment experience. • Relevant industry experience. • Be prepared to perform for a PERFORMANCE MAJOR Representative to assess your music ability in your chosen field.
Music Theatre
Entrance by audition/workshop. Applicants must: • Perform TWO songs with contrasting Music Theatre styles. • Accompanist can be provided (no backing tracks). • Applicants should provide sheet music in the appropriate key. • Perform a short monologue (2-3 minutes). • Participate in a group movement workshop (if possible). • Provide a resume/portfolio that covers ALL musical experience. • Wear appropriate clothing.
Australian Academy of Dramatic Art | AADA
Entrance by audition and interview Thank you for your interest to study at the Australian Academy of Dramatic Art (AADA).
The audition / interview is an opportunity to demonstrate potential for success in the Bachelor of Performance (BPerf), a unique theatre performance degree.
Applicants must be aged 18 or over on 1 February of the year of enrolment.
Your audition will be scheduled in either a morning or afternoon session. There will be groups of between 20 and 30 auditionees at each session. We ask you to set aside the day for your audition.
