Previously owned by INXS, Q studios is our state-of-the-art working recording facility used by many of Australia’s top bands, solo-artists, record labels & producers. Amongst those that have recorded here are INXS (including ‘Kick’ their multi-platinum worldwide phenomenon), Cold Chisel (Twentieth Century), You Am I (Hourly Daily), Grinspoon, Powderfinger, The Cruel Sea, Leonardo's Bride, Wendy Matthews, Glide & Tim Finn.

AIM students have regular opportunities to record at QStudios. Q is the home of our Audio Department, where students learn the art of Audio Technology in one of the most well equpped reputable recording facilities in the country.

  
Q Recording's main areas include three control rooms and three acoustically diverse recording spaces. Each control room contains a large variety of outboard equipment and consoles including a Tascam MT-700 32 channel desk, Control 24 fully digital ProTools HD surround system and the flag ship being the Solid State Logic G-Plus 4040 Analogue Console with total recall. All rooms at Q Recording are acoustically accurate and spacious, making it the ideal teaching environment for students and commercial recording sessions.

The Entech Tradeshow is on from Feb 11-13, 2008. This show is a great opportunity for students to meet directly with professional audio equipment manufacturers, engineers and distributors. The show costs nothing to attend, but students are recommended to pre-register at
