Jamie Rigg

Jamie Rigg

Head of Contemporary Performance

Jamie comes to AIM from an extensive career in television and live performance both in Australia and internationally. As Musical Director for ABC’s Club Buggery with Roy and H.G. he lead a highly successful television band and ultimately toured with the show in the UK. In recent times, Jamie led the hugely popular “Long Way To The Top” national tour as Musical Director. He later returned to television on the ABC’s “Strictly Dancing”, Logie Awards for Channel Nine and “Carols in the Domain” for Channel Seven.

Greg White

Greg White

Head of Production - composition & music production

Greg is a composer, music producer and performer who's creative output has been performed, published, broadcast and exhibited throughout Australia, USA, UK, France, Germany, Poland, Hong Kong, China, New Caledonia, Venezuela and Brazil. He has designed and presented courses at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, the Australian Film Television and Radio School, and Macquarie University and has composed or produced music for 14 feature films, 5 TV series, 25 theatre productions, 12 installations in public spaces and over 100 CD releases. Under his direction, AIM students will gain first-hand experience of real world music content, creation and production by engaging with staff of successful professionals in the industry.

Paul

Paul Saintilan

Head of Arts Management - (includes SOHAIM Master of Arts Management)

Paul has worked at a senior level in the international music industry and possesses excellent academic credentials in both business management and music. Paul was an international marketing director at EMI and Director of Strategic Development at Decca in London. He worked personally with artists such as Nigel Kennedy, the Three Tenors and Luciano Pavarotti, and managed the international marketing of their albums. In Australia he has worked in the Strategic Marketing area of EMI Australia, and has been the Director of Marketing & Development for Musica Viva Australia. Paul has an MBA degree from the Australian Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Music (Hons) degree from the University of Sydney, where he was a composition student of Peter Sculthorpe.

Jen Murphy

Jennifer Murphy

Head of Music Theatre

Jenny continues to work for television as a vocal and performance coach, as an artistic director for major productions staged at the Sydney Entertainment Centre and as a musical consultant on film productions in Australia and internationally. Jenny has brought casting agents to AIM to recruit students for major productions and has provided AIM students with opportunities to perform professionally at major events while still studying.

Margery Smith

Dr Margery Smith: Head of Classical Performance
Margery studied clarinet and saxophone at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, followed by further studies in Europe and the USA. As a performer, her orchestral positions have included Associate Principal Clarinet with the Sydney Symphony, and the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra. She teaches improvisation, clarinet and saxophone and is a member of Continuum Sax. She has recently completed her PhD: Improvisation as a catalyst for collaborative musical thinking and composition (2006). CD releases include Australian music for saxophone: Viva Sax (Tall Poppies), Continuum and ICON with Continuum Sax.
