AADA students
belong to a community of emerging artists
There is no typical AADA student. In each intake, our students are a diverse group - from school leavers and recent university graduates to those who’ve made the bold decision to change careers to pursue a long held passion.
AADA applicants should:
- hold the HSC or equivalent.
- want to integrate the skills of the performer, the creator, and the entrepreneur
- be seeking essential training in theatre making and arts management
- seek to (re)position themselves in Australia’s vital cultural landscape
AADA graduates are well-rounded performing artists who create work that:
- has a clear vision
- is pragmatic and practical to realise
- is packaged and marketed to a target audience
- seeks out an audience with whom it resonates
- participates in multiple, cultural dialogues
AADA offers a learning environment in which:
- respect for individual creativity is welcomed and nurtured
- research and investigation are expected and encouraged
- quality, student-centred projects are facilitated and exposed
- critical rigour is engaged with honesty and integrity
- new professional pathways are revealed
