Michael Bartolomei

Michael Bartolomei has enjoyed an extensive career as a pianist, composer, and arranger. 

Michael has worked across multiple genres and settings, from rock and jazz to classical. He has composed for theatre (the Sydney Theatre Company’s production of Shakespeare’s As You Like It) and film (Dive Deep, Resistance).  His work has been featured extensively in radio and TV commercials including TVCs for Qantas and Nescafe. 

As a sideman he has worked with everyone from John Farnham, Tina Arena and The Supremes to didgeridoo player  Charlie McMahon for his Gondwanaland project. 

Michael has also worked in small and large jazz ensembles with many of Australia’s finest jazz musicians including the Scott Tinkler quartet, Julian Lee, John Hoffman Big Band, Dale Barlow, Emma Pask, The Sydney All Stars Big Band. He has also played with American trombonist Carl Fontana and trumpeter Chuck Findlay.
